The Vine E-mail
cafeOn Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9am until 1pm, the church lounge becomes a café, open to all people to drop in. The Vine has been open for a year, and it has been very successful - attracting around 60 people on a typical day. It is staffed by volunteers from the church, so prices are very reasonable.

The prime aim of The Vine is to provide a service to the community and to those who pass through Baxenden. For those who stay at home during week days in Baxenden, there are no other community meeting points, where people can meet friends etc.

The Vine serves a variety of drinks, and also has a varied menu for snacks and light lunches:
" Snacks: Toasted Teacakes, Crumpets, Toast, Muffins, Sandwiches, Crisps, Cakes, Scones and Chocolate Biscuits etc.
" Lunches: Soup, Pie and Peas, Bacon Sandwiches, Toasted Sandwiches, Baked Beans on Toast, Hot Pot etc.

….. but also, watch the Blackboard for Daily Specials.

specialtableEarly morning is very popular for breakfast and morning coffee - especially with Parents and Grandparents who drop off children at school. We're near the chemist and shops, so many people just drop in for a coffee, or for lunch.

Preparation for one of our Special Events

We also open for special events which we occasionally put on for various groups in the community.

At the same time as The Vine opening hours, in another part of the church, there is an On-line centre, which we call the Vine On-Line.

We have 8 laptop computers, equipped with Microsoft Office and Broadband Internet. Over 100 people have used our facility. We also run courses for new and intermediate users
